Upgrading Firmware on Speedway Revolution

Note: This procedure applies only to Impinj Speedway Revolution readers with firmware version 4.2.0 or higher installed, it will not work for earlier versions.
You can download the documentation by clicking here which includes the procedure shown in the video below as well as how to upgrade versions prior to 4.2.0 via serial interface and upgrading versions 4.4.0 and higher via the web interface.

Required Hardware:
• Ethernet (RJ-45) cable, Revolution reader and AC power supply for the reader (or PoE)
Required Software:
• Latest Revolution Firmware File (See support.impinj.com or your Impinj Representative)
• TFTPD32 Server for Windows PC can be downloaded free of charge from: http://tftpd32.jounin.net/

Procedure:
1. Download the firmware file from the Impinj Support Portal

2. Download TFTPD32 server (TFTPD32.exe) http://tftpd32.jounin.net/

3. Connect the Revolution Ethernet port to a PC directly or via router/switch
Note: It is recommended that you turn off your wireless connectivity while establishing connectivity to the Revolution.
3.1 If connecting an Ethernet cable directly between the PC and the Revolution reader, you will get an icon similar to this in the lower, right-hand toolbar while Windows attempts to acquire a network address for the reader.

3.2 After a minute or so, a message may appear, “This connection has limited or no connectivity” this is is normal.

3.3 You are now ready to follow along with the tutorial video below.
